Tim's love for music began at an early age.
His 6th grade teacher, who just happened to be his mother, initially introduced him to the clarinet; her instrument of choice. It didn't take long however, before all the fancy levers and shiny buttons of the tenor saxophone caught his eye and, like any impressionable young music lover, he was hooked.
During Tim's high school years, music was the staple of his social diet, where he submerged himself in all the genres afforded him; Marching, Concert and Stage Bands. He was such a talent that he placed first in all regional and district tenor sax competitions he ever entered during these years.
After graduation, Tim married and began a family. He took over the family business and his focus on music took a back seat.
Moving forward 25 years, Tim thrust himself back into his love of the saxophone.
He began volunteering at his local church, Church On The Rock, as a member of the worship team. He also joined a local rock band, performing in dance halls, ale houses and cantinas.
When a 7-time Grammy nominee, visiting Tim’s community, had a jam session for local artists, everyone was invited. Tim’s choice to go to that jam session led to his touring with that band for approximately four years.
Everything happens for a reason. The pandemic caused travel to cease.
During the travel down time, Tim found a new love in the tenor world; vintage horns. The love of creating amazing sound, more now as a solo performer, on his 1942 Conn 10M and his 1950 Martin Committee III, is his greatest musical joy.
He feels he’s been so blessed on this journey. He’s looking forward to what the next chapter holds and hopes that he may be able to share his passion with his grandchildren.
